SO, there is this house that lives in Sandpoint, Idaho… I have had my eyes on it for years and years. My family has vacationed in the Sandpoint area my entire life and as I got older and would travel there with friends, I would always find excuses to drive by "My House" and see what was happening. It sat empty for a good number of years, the roof grew a giant hole and water started leaking in, the roof and decks were in shambles and it was obvious that more and more windows were being broken. It was heart wrenching to watch such a beautiful old house dilapidate like that. A few weeks ago over Memorial Day weekend, Charles and I made our annual trip to visit My House.. and I literally jumped out of the moving car in panic and excitement at what we saw. The entire house has been completely restored by this charming and wonderful couple, James and Carol Harvey. They welcomed us inside, showed us around and told us the tales of this beautiful old home. I literally teared up seeing all the work they've put into 4th and Poplar and, as many other people in the Sandpoint area, thanked them for taking the time to restore this piece of history. They had a short article in a local magazine you should definitely check out here!
Unfortunately, I didn't photograph the inside of the home, but the photos below are pictures that I've taken over many years. I love unexpected treats like this and it was a complete delight to meet these two! Thanks for a fun afternoon Carol and James!
