Mitch and Bre’s wedding day was perfectly Pacific Northwest- full of rain, umbrellas, pizza from Pizza’zza, personalized beer made by Atwood Ales AND cake topped in hops by Gathered Confections. The bride’s bouquet was assembled by the groom’s sister, Julia Moquin, and this afternoon was perfectly low-key and beautiful surrounded by close family and friends out at Hovander Park in Ferndale, WA! Check it out <3
This beautiful VRBO, called The Heron House, was custom designed and much of the interior hand done by the owners themselves just down the street from their personal home! It has everything you need for an absolutely perfect weekend in the harbor. Located right on the water, you can wake up to fresh air and the chance to clam, fish, crab, bike, kayak and so much more. We went here with my family back in March and it had plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable with three bathrooms, four bedrooms and a variety of mutual areas including ping pong int he garage and an awesome back deck with a view! If you need a getaway to San Juan Island, check this place out. There’s tons to do on the island as well including Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm, Suzie’s Mopeds, Palindaba Lavender and so much more! Treat yo’self!
We are all constantly inundated with marketing imagery all day long. It’s part of our every day life from a trip to the grocery store, the tiny TV screens on the gas pumps, in your favorite magazine, on Netflix, on city buses, in your mailbox, hiding in your social media feeds.. it’s literally everywhere. I think the key part of building a strong brand is imagery that makes people look twice. We’ve all seen those cheesy ads that make us cringe and while that might also stick with us, I’d prefer the interaction that potential customers have with your brand be positive, joy inspiring and authentic. Your brand imagery should be an extension of your business through color scheme and styling, it should speak to your preferred customer base by grabbing their attention and share the story of what makes your business unique from every other business out there.
Many brands choose to use stock imagery as their branding imagery staple. While this can certainly work for some companies, I find it much more personable and realistic when the images truly reflect the real product in the style that your company wants to portray. Building a brand includes so many pieces: logos, fonts, colors, packaging, voice, social media presence, the list goes on. Imagery is just one of those key elements, but it has a lasting impact on your potential customers. The more they see a consistent and well branded string of images, logos and colors that fit together- the more they are going to remember you! This is much easier to achieve when you have complete control over your content. Working with a photographer that understands your brand and the long-term goals of your company as a whole is one way to really keep your content streamlined!
Below are a few examples of some of my current clients and the work we do together to show off what their business is all about through imagery that is colorful, captivating and fun!
Haggen Food + Pharmacy and I work together each quarter throughout the year to create the fabulous Northwest Fresh Magazines that are available in all stores. These photos are used to show the fresh and delicious food available at their store and to suggest recipe ideas!
Binyon Vision Center and I work together quarterly to create seasonal and updated images showing off their impressive frame collection!
Alluvial Farms and I work together seasonally to photograph their farm as it unfolds- the pigs growing up, the farm they have built from the ground up and the recipes using their fresh, pasture raised pork!
Rads Pepper Sauce is a local Bellingham hot sauce company that wanted to update their imagery for social media and web content- and for a new cookbook they will be featured in! So exciting!
Comphy Co. and I work together to capture their soft, airy bedding and work hard to try and bring the viewer right into the bedroom with us using lighting techniques and texture!
Kayla was absolutely glowing during our maternity session at Hovander Park last summer! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by and that her sweet baby girl has already been with us for several months. This was a lovely evening and the dahlias in the garden were in full bloom which gave me the perfect little pops of color <3 This soon to be family of four is so playful and I always enjoy spending time with them and was especially thrilled to capture this adorable baby bump!
