Happy Valentine’s Day to all you love birds out there! Valentine’s Day is historically one of the most popular days to get engaged, so I wanted to share some of my very favorite engagement ring shots today- Including my very own! I mean, who can resist a beautiful piece of bling!? I do my absolute best to be sure I get a great detail shots of the engagement and weddings rings at both my e-sessions and on the big day!
Katie and Max were surrounded by their HUGE and HILARIOUS group of friends and family on their wedding day at Barnstar Events in Ferndale, WA. The entire day was full of laughter and while the weather was warm, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate this sweet couple. I had the awesome opportunity of getting to know Katie and Max for more than a year before their wedding took place. Even though they lived out of town, they made their way back to Bellingham for an in person meeting and our engagement session together in the Fairhaven area. The chance to really get to know clients for a significant amount of time before their big day makes such a huge difference in the final product. I loved working with these two and Barnstar is a beautiful and unique venue offering SO many great opportunities for photos!

The Heliotrope Hotel is a little gem located just minutes from downtown Bellingham offering easy access to all sorts of Pacific Northwest fun. It’s right on the bus line and walking distance to all sorts of local businesses- it makes for a great jumping off point for whatever your adventurous heart desires. It’s also the perfect spot for a unique kind of wedding day! Friends and family can all stay in the newly renovated rooms and the pavilion is the perfect size for a smaller wedding ceremony. This session was meant to feature just that- an all day adventure starting and ending at the Heliotrope Hotel!
I loved working with this awesome team of vendors to really show off the unique and colorful aspects of the Heliotrope. We wanted to show how a couple might utilize this space and take full advantage of the central location. These two started the day off with a hike with their dog (the hotel is dog friendly, too!) before coming back to get ready for their celebration! You’ll see photos in the hotel rooms that are full of natural light, shots of their bridal party on the property with all kinds of bright and geometric backdrops as well as ceremony and reception photos. Everything took place right onsite which is what really makes this venue special. Everything is all in one place and you can spend the time with your guests relaxing and enjoying yourself!
Every single one of the businesses involved in this shoot are LOCAL and AWESOME. We all specialize in weddings and events and can help make your day special, too. Absolutely check each one of them out if you’re on the lookout for vendors of your own!

Mandy and Mike got hitched out near the beautiful Suncadia Resort in Cle Clum, Washington. They rented one of the larger cabins just past the resort to accommodate their family and friends who had come from near and far to celebrate. It was warm and glorious the entire time we were there. Mandy and Mike felt adamantly about keeping their celebration intimate and small and this location was perfect for them. Before the ceremony we had a first look in front of their cabin and took advantage of the beautiful view behind Suncadia Resort and even stopped in for a quick drink at the winery. We regrouped before the ceremony at their home and everyone walked together through the wooded area outside their cabin to the ceremony spot they chose just beyond the golf course with rolling, grassy hills. They incorporated Mike's daughter into their ceremony and brought tears to everyone's eyes several times throughout the weekend with their obvious love and support of these three becoming one strong family unit. Some of their best friends and owners of The Salted Grape catered the weekend for them from lovely appetizers and handmade, grilled pizza!
