What an absolute TREAT to photograph this fantastic family at the Arizona Commemorative Air Force Museum! Home to so many beautiful vintage aircraft and lovely light inside these hangers, too. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph this family several times when it’s worked out during a time we are traveling through Arizona and we always LOVE seeing them. These adorable boys are getting so big!
This beautiful VRBO, called The Heron House, was custom designed and much of the interior hand done by the owners themselves just down the street from their personal home! It has everything you need for an absolutely perfect weekend in the harbor. Located right on the water, you can wake up to fresh air and the chance to clam, fish, crab, bike, kayak and so much more. We went here with my family back in March and it had plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable with three bathrooms, four bedrooms and a variety of mutual areas including ping pong int he garage and an awesome back deck with a view! If you need a getaway to San Juan Island, check this place out. There’s tons to do on the island as well including Krystal Acres Alpaca Farm, Suzie’s Mopeds, Palindaba Lavender and so much more! Treat yo’self!
I grew up going to Sandpoint, Idaho with my family. We stayed at places in Bottle Bay, in Hope and eventually my parents bought a fantastic cabin right on Lake Pend Oreille where we could swim, wakeboard and explore the flat rock islands all around the HUGE lake. Charles and I have made our way back to Sandpoint almost every year we’ve been together, but we no longer had a cabin there and the 6.5 hour drive from Bellingham is really only worth it when you have some extra time off. We got to spend 5 whole days there last summer and it was GREAT. We explored all of our favorite old spots including the point down in Garfield Bay, the lookout at Schwietzer, the city beach, the farmers market and my all time favorite house on 5th and Poplar street. We even checked out the new Evans Brothers Coffee Co in town!
I lived in Portland for nearly 2 years wayy back in 2013. I moved back to Bellingham to be with my now husband. We’d been doing long distance the entire time and it was time to make the choice that worked best for us. When I moved back I jumped head first into seriously running my photography business. I’ve now been fully self employed going on 5 years! WHATTT!!!
BUT, when I moved back to Bellingham, I moved away from some of my very favorite people. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t fun. That seems like a million years ago, now, that I lived in Portland, but our friendship is still as strong as ever. Charles and I got to spend a weekend with them last summer enjoying the sunshine, the newly redone Tillamook Cheese Factory and the Oregon Coast. Life doesn’t always work out exactly how you want it to, but having the opportunity to spend several days in a row with our best friends and their new little family are times I will always treasure… Until one day we are neighbors and can watch The Office reruns and eat sugar popcorn any time we want. <3
