The 2018 issue of Bellingham Alive’s Winter Fashion magazine was SO much fun to be a part of! I loved the neutral color scheme with pops of colors and FEATHERS! Lisa Karlberg hand crafted all of the feather wardrobe pieces herself and handpicked the outfits and accessories from local businesses. Find the entire list of participating shops below! You can find this issue on store shelves near you until the end of December!
I have so much to be thankful for as another year has flown by as a small business owner. This year was such a fabulous smattering of so many different kinds of clients, jobs, vacations and friends. My goal this year was to really pursue two main avenues of business: People and Food. It’s hard for me to really choose between these two- I LOVE photographing weddings and families and I am also so drawn to food styling and working with business owners. I feel really lucky to have so many business owners, couples, families and chefs trust me with their biggest moments and hard work. As is always the case, it was very hard to pick my “favorites,” because in every job I take there are always shots I love, but find a sampling of what 2018 meant to me below.
Can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store! Cheers!
I have had so many requests for headshots throughout this last year and these were some of my favorites. I photographed Rebecca and Jeff's wedding just a few short years ago and it's always so fun to work with clients again! I wanted to share a few from this series for those of you that are looking for some bright, clean headshots yourselves! Reach out and let's get it on the books!
Most every client I speak with before their session tells me they are interested in mostly candid photos and not very much posed work. This goes for weddings, family sessions, newborn, engagement and anniversary sessions. I mean, who doesn't love a great shot of yourself really caught up in the moment? These images of interaction show real, authentic moments and that is what everyone wants to hang on their wall, put on their Christmas cards and share online, right?
Well, truth be told, I think we've got you fooled! I’ve dug up a random sampling of all kinds of sessions that I offer that you can find below. The truth is, every single one of the images below started as a posed situation. A good photographer knows how to find the right light, frame a shot, pose the clients in the most natural and flattering way for that situation and then give them a slight bit of direction to really take their mind off the camera and keep them in the moment. It's something that comes with time, practice and trying new things! I definitely love a "typical" posed photo (and in some situations that is the only way to do it), but for those of you out there that are looking for something a little bit more authentic and real- keep this in mind! As your photographer I want to capture both the giant grins while you look right at my camera and the silly, fun moments when I can get you to play and interact. In order to capture both of these things, you have to trust that I am putting you in a situation that will help help those moments unfold.
Are you ready? Contact me and let’s get your session on the books!
