Kayla was absolutely glowing during our maternity session at Hovander Park last summer! I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by and that her sweet baby girl has already been with us for several months. This was a lovely evening and the dahlias in the garden were in full bloom which gave me the perfect little pops of color <3 This soon to be family of four is so playful and I always enjoy spending time with them and was especially thrilled to capture this adorable baby bump!
Alluvial Farms was the first farm to hire me to photograph the entire process of setting up their dream farm. I met them before construction on the yurt they live in on the property, before the barn to house the pigs had ever started and long before the pigs had ever even arrived! The owners of Alluvial are kind, generous and incredibly devoted to providing the best pork possible. As their own site says: “Alluvial Farms raises heritage breed pastured pigs on organic pastures. Pigs have constant access to the outdoors as well as a big airy barn where they can nest down and stay cool in the summer, warm in the winter. We source piglets from a local breeder in Spanaway who meets a high standard of humane animal handling.”
It’s so clear how much they care about their pigs and providing them with comfort, food, water and the freedom to roam! We are working together on an on-going basis, but this session was specifically to highlight the progess they had made on their dream farm- yurt, start to a barn and little piggies! We even got some shots of them, doing their thing and loving their pigs. Plus, we took their delicious product, styled it and created a little recipe for them to recommend to their customers. YUM.
If you’re looking for natural, fresh, local pork- I really can’t recommend Alluvial Farms enough. Support your local farmers!
I was SO thrilled when 1889 Washington Magazine reached out to me about doing a spotlight piece on Triple Wren Farms. They wanted to show off the family behind the farm, the team that makes all the magic happen and the BEAUTIFUL colors that grow all over the farm in the summer months. in addition to growing flowers, they do arrangements and consultations for weddings, offer an internship program and hold workshops to help teach and support other farmer-florists like themselves. Check out their feature in the 1889 Magazine or on their blog!!
Katie and Max were surrounded by their HUGE and HILARIOUS group of friends and family on their wedding day at Barnstar Events in Ferndale, WA. The entire day was full of laughter and while the weather was warm, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate this sweet couple. I had the awesome opportunity of getting to know Katie and Max for more than a year before their wedding took place. Even though they lived out of town, they made their way back to Bellingham for an in person meeting and our engagement session together in the Fairhaven area. The chance to really get to know clients for a significant amount of time before their big day makes such a huge difference in the final product. I loved working with these two and Barnstar is a beautiful and unique venue offering SO many great opportunities for photos!
